Älva was rejected by her dam and was purchased by Amunet who felt sorry for her. She's been "adopted" by the heavy Nordanner mare Cheers, and tends to stick by her in the pasture, but is being bottlefed by stable staff. Because of this, and her relatively small size, Älva seems to think she's a lapdog, and will attempt to cuddle accordingly if given a chance. A complete sweetheart, but promises to develop some bad habits from the close contact with people.

She also seems to have a special fascination for dragonflies - when one flies by she will freeze and stare transfixed at it until it goes out of sight.
